Sound Healing

Before investing in your own personal singing bowl or attending a sound therapy session where singing bowls are used, there are several cautions and warnings to be aware of. It is important to keep in mind that a Tibetan singing bowl is not a toy and not just an instrument. It’s a powerful tool for meditation that has been used in religious practices for thousands of years. Singing bowls and their ability to influence our minds and mood should be treated as any other method of healing or medication.

In this article we answer the following questions:

  •     When should singing bowls be completely avoided?

  •     When should singing bowls avoid certain parts of the body?

  •     When should you limit access to singing bowls?

When Should Singing Bowls Be Completely Avoided?

There are certain illnesses, conditions, and circumstances that might require completely avoiding singing bowls or participating in sound therapy where singing bowls are used. If you find that you have one or more of these conditions but are still interested in the healing effects of singing bowls, you should consult your doctor before use.

Certain neurological disorders will foreclose the use of singing bowls. For example, if you have epilepsy, you should not attend a sound therapy session where singing bowls are used. If you wish to do so, it is necessary to get your doctor’s permission as well as be prescribed the correct anti-epileptic medication. If you have Parkinson’s disease and have a deep brain stimulation device (DBS) to treat your illness, you should not use singing bowls. If you have a neurological disease other than these, please contact your physician to be sure that you can receive sound therapy with singing bowls.

In addition, singing bowls should not be placed on your body if you have a heart pacemaker, coronary stent, cardiac shunt, artificial heart valvesimplantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), metal inserts, metal implants, or metal staples. Placing a vibrating singing bowl on your body if you have any of these inside of you is very dangerous. As the singing bowl is played and the vibrations pass through your body, there is a chance that the vibrations could shake and disturb the metal inside of you, causing it to move or malfunction, which could result in pain or death.

You should also avoid singing bowls if you have other clinical disorders such as polyneuropathy or hemiparesis. It may be necessary to also avoid sound therapy with singing bowls if you are currently being medicated for severe depression or anxiety. While singing bowls may help with mild cases of depression, anxiety, and PTSD, it is important to receive permission from your doctor, psychiatrist, or therapist before going forward with sound therapy.

During your sessions, please keep in mind that singing bowls place people in meditative states that allow individuals to reflect on themselves and their thoughts. If you suffer from mental illness, it may become uncomfortable if the singing bowl aids in bringing out strong emotions or painful memories. After a session, you may feel the need to cry or need a break--that’s okay, it’s all part of the healing process. Take it slow afterwards.

If receiving sound therapy with singing bowls for things such as PTSD, anxiety, or depression, it is important to find the right teacher--someone who is professional, knowledgeable, and capable of understanding and sympathizing with the trauma that may be resurfaced in your sessions. Reliving trauma can be incredibly difficult so it is important that you expect and prepare yourself for some traumatic experiences to resurface during your sessions. If you are not ready for this type of healing, singing bowls and sound therapy should be avoided until a later time.

When Should Singing Bowls Avoid Certain Parts of the Body?

Sometimes you can have access to singing bowls but still limit where the bowls are placed on your body. Often, in sound therapy, singing bowls are placed on certain parts of the body. If any of the following applies to you, you may still play or listen to singing bowls but must avoid placing them on your body.

Some skin disorders and diseases will prevent a person from benefiting from sound therapy when it involves placing singing bowls on the body. In particular, if you have an inflammatory skin disorder, such as hives, psoriasis, eczema or its variant weeping eczema, singing bowls should not be placed on your body or touch your skin. Additionally, si

Certain artery diseases or blood clots will limit where you can place a singing bowl on your body. For example, if you have carotid atherosclerosis, singing bowls should not be placed in the area around the neck. Singing bowls should also not be placed near diseased or clotted veins. In cases of thick vein thrombosis, singing bowls should not be placed on top of the affected vein or near it.

There are other cases where singing bowls cannot be placed on certain parts of the body. For example, they should not be placed directly on or near acute inflammations, tumors, implants, screws, artificial joints, and inflamed joints and veins.

When Should You Limit Access To Singing Bowls?

There are certain times or situations where you should limit access to singing bowls. This does not have to mean completely cutting singing bowls out of your life. Instead, these are times when you should either avoid singing bowls for a determined amount of time or only use them for a specific amount of time.

For example, during pregnancy, singing bowls should not be placed on the body. If you receive sound therapy or are interested in attending a session, and are pregnant, it is important that the bowls are not placed on your body, especially within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. You may be able to still attend sessions or use a singing bowl while pregnant but you should consult your doctor before playing or hearing a singing bowl. If your doctor approves the use of singing bowls during your pregnancy, it is vital that you do not play the singing bowl too loud near your belly or place the bowl too close to your belly or back.

If you are not pregnant but do have young children, it may be necessary to limit the use of singing bowls in your home. As children are very curious and might think your singing bowl is a toy, it is important to keep it out of reach or ensure you supervise them while they are playing it. Loud singing bowls can cause damage to hearing if played incorrectly and your child may want to see how loud the singing bowl can be. For the safety of your children, as well as your singing bowl, it would be best to ensure the two remained separated or closely watched when together.

Some illnesses or conditions that may come and go will limit your access to singing bowls. If you are experiencing a fever, have severe inflammation or have open wounds, singing bowls should not be used until these symptoms and conditions have passed. Additionally, after surgery, singing bowls should not be placed on the body before the sutures have been removed and the scar has fully healed and closed. If you are suffering from whiplash, you should not seek sound therapy treatment until at least three days after your injury.

Finally, if you are a singing bowl beginner, it may be necessary to limit how long you play your singing bowl per day. According to alternative health practitioners, it is possible to play your singing bowl for too long, resulting in a “healing crisis.” Your singing bowl gives off vibrations and energy and, as such, too much energy, or playing too long, can overly affect your body. You might find that your symptoms worsen instead of improve.

If this is the case, it is suggested that you limit yourself to a maximum of 5 minutes a day. These 5 minutes of playing should preferably be done at night before bed so that you have the night to sleep and process the energy from the singing bowl. As you adjust to the energy of your singing bowl, you can increase the time you spend playing it but remember less is always more so it is important to not over do it.

Additionally, as a beginner, it is not recommended that you place singing bowls on your body for sound therapy yourself. You should seek a professional or undergo training in order to carry out singing bowl sound therapy appropriately.

Trigger Point Therapy

What Is Trigger Point Therapy?

Trigger point therapy is performed by a PT putting and holding pressure on your trigger points. This temporarily cuts off circulation to the tissue, which raises levels of a chemical in the tissues called nitric oxide. Nitric oxide signals your body to open up microcapillaries (extremely small blood vessels), thus increasing blood flow to help break up the trigger point and end the pain-spasm-pain cycle.

What Are Trigger Points?

Trigger points feel like little marbles or knots just under your skin. When pressing on trigger points, many people feel no pain or discomfort. Sometimes, trigger points become very sensitive, and some people feel significant pain in areas where they have trigger points.

Have you ever had a Charlie horse in a muscle? If so, then you know how this feels: the entire muscle goes into a painful spasm, and the only thing that seems to help is to gently elongate and stretch the muscle. Now, think of trigger points as tiny Charlie horses in your muscle. These pesky points don't cause that entire muscle to spasm, just a very small portion of it. But if you have enough trigger points, you may start to feel intense pain and experience limited muscle mobility.

Passive and Active Trigger Points

There are two types of trigger points: active and passive.2

Passive trigger points simply hurt at their exact location. If you have a painful muscle knot in your hamstring and someone presses on it, the pain will be felt right where the pressure is on the knot.

An active trigger point refers to pain to another part of the body. If someone presses on an active trigger point in your shoulder, you may feel pain in your shoulder along with symptoms in your chest or arm.

Regardless of the type of trigger point you have, you may benefit from physical therapy to help manage your problem.

The Science of Trigger Points

Research indicates that no one really knows what the exact tissue is that makes you feel trigger points. It is also unknown why some people feel pain when touching muscle knots and some people do not.

Today's science cannot explain why some trigger points hurt and some trigger points are simply muscle knots. It is theorized that trigger points become so tense that the limit blood flow to muscle tissue.1

This creates a metabolic crisis in the muscle tissue; there are pain and tightness which requires oxygen and nutrients to help heal, but those nutrients are unable to get to the muscle due to decreased circulation because of the tightness. The pain-decreased circulation-pain cycle begins, and this cycle can be difficult to interrupt.

Where Do People Get Trigger Points?

Trigger points and muscle knots can occur anywhere in your body. Wherever there is muscle tissue, there may be a small area of tissue tension.1 This could be a trigger point. Areas in the body where trigger points are more commonly found may include:

  • Your upper trapezius muscles on either side of your neck just above your shoulders

  • Your quadratus lumborum muscles of your low back

  • Your hamstrings

  • Your calf muscles

  • Along your iliotibial band

You can get trigger points anywhere in your body, and if they occur excessively, you may experience chronic pain and myofascial pain syndrome.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Are trigger points the same as muscle knots?

Yes, trigger points are a taut band of skeletal muscle that feels like a marble under the skin. Trigger points are frequently referred to as knots.

  • Do trigger points hurt?

Yes, but not always. Trigger points are typically very sensitive to the touch and can refer pain to other parts of the body. Having several trigger points can result in widespread aches and pains sometimes referred to as myofascial pain syndrome.

  • How does trigger point therapy work?

Trigger point therapy involves applying direct pressure to trigger points. This temporarily cuts off circulation to the tissue causing a build-up of nitric oxide in the tissue. Nitric oxide signals microcapillaries to open, increasing blood flow to break up the muscle knot.

  • Does trigger point therapy hurt?

Yes, trigger point therapy can be painful, but only while pressure is being applied to the tender area. The temporary pain of trigger point therapy can help to relieve ongoing pain and muscle spasms.

You may not feel immediate relief from a session but should feel the improvement the day after. It may take several sessions to fully resolve a trigger point. After each session, be sure to drink lots of water to help flush waste material from your muscles.

Waxing

Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using a covering of a sticky substance, such as wax, to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different human hair growth cycle. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, pubic hair (called bikini waxing), legs, arms, back, abdomen, knuckles, and feet. There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair.

There are many benefits to waxing versus other forms of hair removal. It is an effective method to remove large amounts of hair at one time. It is a long-lasting method, as hair in waxed areas will not grow back for two to eight weeks. When hair is shaved or removed by depilatory cream, the hair is removed at the surface rather than the hair root. Within a few days, the hair can reappear back at the surface. With these methods, hair tends to grow back in a rough stubble. Areas that are repeatedly waxed over long periods of time often exhibit regrowth that is softer.

The following factors are known to make those who are waxed more prone to "skin lifting," where the top layer of skin is torn away during waxing treatment:

  • Taking blood-thinning medications;

  • Taking drugs for autoimmune diseases, including lupus;

  • Taking prednisone or steroids;

  • Psoriasis, eczema, or other chronic skin diseases;

  • Recent sunburn;

  • Recent cosmetic or reconstructive surgery;

  • Recent laser skin treatment;

  • Severe varicose leg veins;

  • Rosacea or very sensitive skin;

  • History of fever blisters or cold sores (waxing can cause a flare-up);

  • Using Trevino, Tazarotene, or any other peeling agent;

  • Recent surgical peel, microdermabrasion or chemical peel using glycolic, alpha hydroxy, salicylic acid, or other acid-based products.

Tooth Gem

A tooth gem is a small rhinestone jewel is attached to the surface of a tooth using an adhesive. Some are small stones in the center of the tooth, other times people elect to place a jewel-encrusted cap over their teeth.

Why You Should Get Teeth Jewellery

It’s normal to care about your appearance, as more and more people are trying different ways to enhance their natural beauty.

Benefits

It’s Temporary

One of the advantages of teeth jewellery is that it’s 100% reversible. Since the jewels are applied with dental bonding materials, they are completely temporary and cause no damage to your teeth. So why not try it and have some fun. If you don’t like it, your dentist will easily have it removed pain-free, and if you love it, get more!

Boost Your Confidence

It’s quite common to be self-conscious about your smile. That’s why more and more people are opting for teeth jewellery to achieve desired results in their appearance. We often want to change what we don’t like, but adding a gem is the perfect way to not change but enhance your smile and make a fashion statement among others.

It’s Completely Safe

It’s extremely important that your dentist completes your teeth jewellery procedure. Your teeth must be well looked after and at Blue Tooth Dental we use only the safest materials to bond the jewel of your choice onto your tooth. Leaving you with a beautifully enhanced smile while the health of your teeth remains.

The Risks of Tooth Gems

With a gem, a person may develop a discolored area on the surface of the tooth. Over time, jeweled gems and caps may wear away the enamel, increasing the risk of tooth decay and infection. Without proper dental care, such as regular brushing and flossing, dental jewelry offers convenient hiding places for stray food particles and harmful bacteria. Finally, many people apply gems to their teeth using at-home kits. This increases the risk of damaging the tooth and causing complications, such as tooth decay.

TOOTH GEM AFTERCARE

  • DO NOT TOUCH OR PLAY WITH CRYSTAL.

  • DO NOT EAT FOR 1 HOUR AFTER CRYSTAL IS PLACED. YOU CAN DRINK WATER IMMEDIATELY.

  • EAT ONLY SOFT FOODS FOR THE 1ST 12 HOURS.

  • DO NOT BRUSH YOUR TEETH FOR 12 HOURS. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO NOT USE AN ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH FOR THE FIRST 24 HOURS AFTER A JEWEL HAS BEEN PLACED.

They usually have a lifespan 2 weeks up to 6 months, but can sometimes last longer.  This depends on the habits of the client.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a type of physical therapy often used to treat myofascial pain syndrome. Myofascial pain syndrome is a chronic pain disorder caused by sensitivity and tightness in your myofascial tissues. These tissues surround and support the muscles throughout your body. The pain usually originates from specific points within your myofascial tissues called “trigger points.”

Myofascial release focuses on reducing pain by easing the tension and tightness in the trigger points. It’s not always easy to understand what trigger point is responsible for the pain. Localizing pain to a specific trigger point is very difficult. For that reason, myofascial release is often used over a broad area of muscle and tissue rather than at single points.

Who Might Benefit From Myofascial Release?

Patients with myofascial pain syndrome frequently benefit from this type of therapy. People who experience chronic headaches may also find relief from myofascial release. Gently massaging on tightened muscles in and around the neck and head may reduce headaches.

Some people with venous insufficiency, which occurs when blood pools in the deep veins of the leg, may also be candidates for myofascial release. During venous insufficiency, the blood pool stretches and eventually damages the veins in your legs. You may experience an aching and painful sensation in the affected leg. Myofascial release might be used in conjunction with other treatments to reduce the pooling and pain caused by venous insufficiency.

What Are the Risks of Myofascial Release?

Myofascial release by massage therapy has very few risks. Whether you’re trying to relax or aiming to ease back pain, massage therapy may be beneficial for pain reduction.

However, massage isn’t ideal for people:

  • with burns, injuries, or painful wounds

  • with fractures or broken bones

  • with fragile or weak bones

  • with deep vein thrombosis or deep vein issues

  • taking blood-thinning medications

Consult a Massage Therapist and Your Doctor

Speak with your doctor or physical therapist if you’re interested in trying myofascial release. You may have great success with this type of alternative pain treatment. However, you need to be aware of the risks and potential dangers as you would with any type of medical treatment.

Teeth Whitening

Regardless of how well you care for your teeth, it is inevitable that, over time, some yellowing or general discoloration will occur. To combat these effects, our practice offers in-office whitening and at-home teeth whitening, both of which can significantly lighten the shade of your teeth with natural-looking lasting results.

What are the Benefits of Teeth Whitening?

Even those who frequently brush, regularly visit the dentist, and take excellent care of their teeth may notice signs of staining and discoloration over time. These perceived tooth blemishes can be caused by long-term consumption of foods and beverages such as berries, coffee, red wine, and other items that contain staining agents, as well as the use of tobacco products. In many cases, tooth discoloration is simply the result of the natural aging process. Professional teeth whitening treatments utilize powerful whitening agents to bring out a whiter, healthier, and more refreshed appearance. Composed of top-quality whitening formulas, these innovative techniques can be custom-tailored to whiten your teeth by several shades, often more effectively and in less time than alternatives available over-the-counter. Ultimately, professional teeth whitening options can have a positive effect on overall smile aesthetics and produce long-lasting results for many individuals.

How Long Do Teeth Whitening Results Last?

The longevity of teeth whitening results is dependent on a variety of factors, including lifestyle habits, genetics, diet, and the use of certain medications. For many individuals, the effects last very long periods of time. We recommend the use of straws with certain drinks to minimize staining, as well as regular visits to see the hygienist to minimize the development of plaque buildup, which can contribute to staining.

Yeso Lipo Wrap

Yeso therapy treatment involves casting a part of the body to sculpt it. Casts are made of natural fibers that contain skin-nourishing compounds like mineral salts, algae, and other extracts. The fibers bind specific areas — most commonly abs, arms and thighs — to provide compression and generate heat. The heat helps skin to absorb both the nutrients infused in the cast fibers as well as a nutritive cream that is applied before the cast to encourage increased fat burning from your metabolism.

Yeso therapy can help you achieve dramatic results! —up to 10-inch reduction in waistline. Yeso treatments also hydrate and rejuvenate skin for firmer, fuller texture.

  • Up to a 10-inch waistline reduction)

  • Hydrated and rejuvenated skin

  • Firmer, fuller skin texture

  • Non-invasive procedures and no healing time

  • Safe for most people and body types!

We will apply the cast, which takes about an hour. For optimal absorption, the casting applied in a yeso therapy session should stay on for at least four to eight hours, meaning that you can go home after the cast is applied and will take off the cast at home.

Most clients will see noticeable results after a single yeso treatment. However, for more dramatic results and to maintain a toned tummy and thighs, we suggest that you carry out yeso therapy 10 to 15 sessions (depending on your goals). The number of sessions required depends on several other factors, including overall health, genetics and diet. Once your initial treatment series is done, we recommend a single treatment each month for maintenance.  One session for a quick need like a wedding ect.

Anal Rejuvenation

Anal rejuvenation is intended to improve the appearance and tightness of the anal region. However, medical conditions such as internal hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and moderate to severe bowel incontinence must be treated by a urogynecologist. Aging, pregnancy, and specific activities can have a dramatic effect on a person’s most sensitive areas, including the genital and perineal regions. Fortunately, patients can address some of their intimate concerns with anal rejuvenation. Anal rejuvenation refers to a set of non-surgical procedures that are designed to revitalize the appearance and functionality of the anus, ultimately restoring a patient’s confidence and personal comfort. Those who opt for this revolutionary treatment can experience lasting results and an improved quality of life.

Then this may be the service for you. There’s no real downtime for these treatments — patients can resume their normal activity, including working out, in just a few days (with the exception of hot tubs, pools, baths, and saunas: avoid those for 4-6 weeks).

Vagina Rejuvenation

Vagina Rejuvenation includes everything that has to do with the corrective procedures on the vagina like tightening or treatment for increasing lubrication. These procedures are usually performed to correct problems that may occur after giving birth. These conditions are – lack of tightness in the vagina, urinary incontinence, absence of lubrication, etc.
Vaginal Rejuvenation is increasing in popularity as the issues after childbirth can affect a woman’s sense of well-being and sexuality. Studies say that around 40% of women have psychological distress from sexual dysfunction, and because of this, many are opting for Vaginal Rejuvenation. There isn’t one single way for this. There are injections, creams, surgical, and non-surgical procedures to manage this.

Why women desire Vaginal Rejuvenation?
The vagina is an elastic muscle, and it can expand due to tow reasons – childbirth and age. It expands in childbirth for obvious reasons, as a woman needs to push out the baby. But with age, there are changes in hormones that reduce the strength of the muscle and the surrounding connective tissues. As such, the vagina may lose elasticity. The vaginal walls can become thin due to a lack of estrogen, making one feel a change in diameter. This is known as vaginal atrophy. This loose feeling makes women want to go back, and here is where vaginal Rejuvenation comes in.
Women may seek vaginal Rejuvenation either for cosmetic reasons or to have a better quality of life. Many have experienced stress urinary incontinence post-childbirth, and hence vaginal Rejuvenation can help them with this. If a woman seeks this for cosmetic reasons, then its important to think of the reasons they want it before going forward.
Methods of Vaginal Rejuvenation
Vaginal Rejuvenation is done via two methods – Surgical and Non-Surgical.
Surgical
Surgical options for vaginal Rejuvenation are – vaginoplasty, labiaplasty, and vulvoplasty.
1. Vaginoplasty
This procedure tightens the vagina that can become with age or childbirth. Vaginoplasty has been represented as done to benefit self -esteem, and confidence. The procedure is performed under regional or local anesthesia. It can either be a full-length or half-length tightening. A depth of 7-8 cms is full length. It also usually includes perineoplasty to remodel the perineum. 66% of women believe that this procedure has improved their sex lives.
However, some have complained of complications such as hemorrhage, wound infection, constipation, and lack of lubrication, to name a few. Some examples of vaginoplasty are:
        •       Clitoral unhooding: This involves removing tissue that covers the clitoris.
        •       Revirgination: The hymen breaks the first time a woman has intercourse, and surgery can be done to mimic its original state before the woman had sex.
        •       G-spot amplification: It is believed that the front wall of the vagina has the g-spot, which is important for female stimulation and arousal. Collagen is injected into this area to increase pleasure for the woman.
2. Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty means reshaping the labia. It is the surgical reduction of labia minora. This has become quite popular. It changes the shape of the labia or corrects the asymmetry. Complications following this surgery can be hematoma, infections, and scarring. One can shorten or reshape the lips after administering anesthesia. The unwanted tissue is cut with a laser or scalpel, and the loose edge is stitched with dissolving stitches.
3. Vulvoplasty
Vulvoplasty means reshaping the vulva. This involves reshaping the vulva to look a certain way.
FAQs for Surgical Procedures
        •       Who can go for a surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation?
1       A woman in good health who has the following issues can go for surgery.
2       She feels pain or soreness during exercise or sexual activity.
3       Her genital contours have become stretched or lax.
4       She wants to improve the look of her genitals.
5       She doesn’t feel much sensation during sex after childbirth.
        •       What is the procedure for surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Anesthesia is administered to the patient first. If it is a vaginoplasty, then eth excess skin is removed, and the vaginal wall tissues are tightened using sutures. If it is a labiaplasty, then eth excess tissue is removed to get the desired contour. The labia is aligned and closed with absorbing sutures.
        •       What questions do I ask the surgeon before making a decision on the surgery?
1       Will the procedure affect my ability to feel an orgasm?
2       What are the benefits of this procedure?
3       What are the short and long term risks involved?
4       Will there be reduced sensation in the clitoris or labia post-surgery?
5       Can I use all feminine hygiene products such as tampons?
6       Doe sit affect pregnancy and childbirth in the future?
Non-Surgical
Non-Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation involves two common methods. One is using radio frequency and the other using the laser. They are known as energy-based treatments. Both radiofrequency and laser options heat the tissues, which affects the formation of collagen. It was found that cooling, along with radiofrequency, leads to the tightening of the vagina. The alternate laser use heats the vaginal tissues and tightens them too.
        •       Radio Frequency – Radiofrequency or RF treatments use electromagnetic waves. These are similar to waves produced in a microwave. These waves are, to a lesser extent, in an RF treatment, and the energy is focused to heat the tissue. Some brands that offer RF devices are – ThermiVa and Viveve.
        •       CO2 Laser – In CO2 laser treatment, a wand is inserted. This wand heats up the tissue in the vagina. The tissue in the lower layers are forced to make more collagen and makes the skin firm and tight. Brands that offer the laser device are – FemTouch, MonaLisa Touch, and FemiLift.
FAQs for energy-based treatment

How is laser tightening done?
A laser probe is inserted into the vagina, and it can rotate 360 degrees. The light can penetrate the vaginal epithelium and reach the tissue, which can produce new collagen. It is painless and requires zero downtime or anesthesia. Patients can resume their day to day activities post the procedure. But doctors advise nothing should be inserted in the vagina for five days, including no sex.
Who can be a good candidate for laser treatments in Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Laser treatments for the vagina is safe for most women, especially those that have issues relating to pelvic pain, stress urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, and pelvic relaxation. Doctors recommend that women wait at least three months post-birth for this treatment. In post-menopausal women, this treatment can promote collagen production. The vaginal remodeling returns the architecture of the vagina, the way it was before menopause. Women have reported a reduction in pain during sex and improved lubrication.
Where can an energy-based treatment take place?
These energy-based treatments can be performed in the doctor’s office. Little to zero anesthetics is used for the procedure.
Are there are any risks associated with this procedure?
There can be a risk of infection or bleeding in some women. But this risk is very low, and most women don’t experience this. In extremely rare cases, a woman may experience vulvar or vaginal scarring.
Are energy-based treatment permanent?
These treatments are not permanent and will need to be done over several sessions.
Will insurance cover the cost of Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Most insurance providers do not cover vaginal Rejuvenation. However, some do pay for this as therapy. Do call your insurance provider to find out more.
Does vaginal lubrication improve with RF and Laser?
RF and laser both have been seen to improve vaginal lubrication. This change is said to be the result of improved blood flow.
How often does this procedure need to be performed? Is once enough?
RF and laser aren’t permanent, so most companies recommended another session 6-12 months after the first session.
Are energy-based procedures more effective than surgical procedures?
A non-surgical procedure doesn’t replace surgery. Radiofrequency and laser depend on tightening the walls using collagen remodeling, whereas surgery closes the gap between the vaginal muscles that have stretched apart. The results of laser and radiofrequency may be limited, but surgical procedures always carry the risks of surgery.
Reducing Urinary Incontinence
If you experience a leak when you laugh, run, sneeze or cough, then you may have urinary stress incontinence. This happens when pelvic floor muscles become weak due to pregnancy or old age. Because of this, controlling leakage from the bladder becomes difficult. Women who suffer from it may struggle with embarrassment.
Certain vaginal rejuvenation procedures can really change this form of a woman. Non-surgical treatments can achieve good results. A doctor may suggest a combination of cryotherapy and radiofrequency to heat the deeper vaginal layers. Women will notice an improvement in dryness and vaginal laxity. Also, urinary incontinence can be treated completely by this method.
Intended Results from Vaginal Rejuvenation
        •       A woman will feel more comfortable during strenuous activities or sex after this procedure. There will be more lubrication, and women will be able to feel better orgasms.
        •       There will be a reduction in urinary incontinence, and she will be free from embarrassment.
        •       Vaginoplasty can tighten the vagina and bring it to the same size as it was before childbirth.
        •       The labia’s appearance can be improved, which will boost the woman’s self-confidence.
Conclusion
Vaginal Rejuvenation can ensure that a woman’s vagina is lubricated, she feels tight, and there is a lesser chance of stress urinary incontinence. A woman might opt for vaginal Rejuvenation for cosmetic purposes as well. Because her vagina is lubricated and tight, sexual intercourse won’t be as painful, and she will enjoy it. The urinary incontinence will ensure that she isn’t shy from any physical activities and lives her life to the fullest.
While a Vaginal Rejuvenation appears to be a solution for some of the valid issues that women face. One must understand that no matter what, any procedure or surgery will not restore a body part to how it was when the woman was 18 years old. The body goes through wear and tear as it ages. Thus, Vaginal Rejuvenation is a good way to avoid pain and embarrassment, but one must understand and be sure of what the expectation of the outcome is.

Infrared Body Wrap

Far infrared rays penetrate up to one inch inside the body greatly increasing core body temperature. As the body heats up, it works hard to cool itself and maintain homeostasis; this creates a temporary metabolic increase and thus, fat loss. Our clients have seen anywhere from one-half to three percent body fat loss in one session! Infrared rays also stimulate fat cells, causing them to release any toxic build up. As your body sweats, these toxins will be safely excreted.
  • Lower Body Fat and Facilitate Weight Loss (not just from water)

  • Relieve Pain of Joints & Muscles

  • Speed Up Metabolism, Stimulate Lymphatic Systems

  • Release Toxins and Increase Energy

Castor Oil Pack

When we have scar tissue or adhesions, fibroids, ovarian cysts, blocked fallopian tubes, PID, Asherman’s Syndrome and more, castor oil packs improves the blood flow needed for healing and is one of the easiest therapies along-side acupuncture to improve the health of the reproductive system and fertility.

5 Ways Castor Oil Packs Improve Reproductive Health and Fertility

Increases Circulation

Castor Oil Therapy stimulates the circulatory system. By increasing circulation, fresh oxygenated blood flows through the abdomen/pelvis and nourishes the reproductive organs – ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus – helping them to properly function. A lack of circulation to these organs prevents them from properly healing if damaged and may promote the formation of excessive scar tissue and adhesions.

Additional therapies of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can greatly optimize circulation and is a beneficial way to naturally support egg health and healthy reproductive organ function.

Boosts Immune System Function

Lymph nodes surround the reproductive organs and are home to lymphocytes (lymph cells) and lymph (fluid) that make up part of the body’s immune system. The lymphatic system continuously defends the body from disease. Application of a castor oil pack over the lower abdomen stimulates movement of the lymph through the reproductive area. The lymphatic system then goes to work to remove waste (toxins) from the area helping to cleanse the reproductive organs.

Promotes Detoxification

Castor oil therapy increases circulation to the liver, which stimulates liver detoxification and improves liver function. The liver removes hormones, drugs, and other biologically active molecules from the blood and it also makes 1/3 to 1/2 of all lymph. Liver health is vital to proper function of the lymphatic system. A liver that is overwhelmed due to poor diet, poor lifestyle choices, being sedentary, or exposure to xenohormones, cannot adequately function, or produce lymph as well. This may contribute to hormonal imbalance and disease. In Chinese medicine, the Liver meridian is of paramount importance in women’s reproductive health mostly through its relationship with the uterus and blood.

Reduces Inflammation & Pain

Lack of circulation, poor immune system function resulting in sluggish lymph flow or congested lymph glands and an overburdened liver can all contribute to inflammation and pain. We find it is very common with some fertility issues because inflammation is present such as ovarian cysts, blocked fallopian tubes, uterine fibroids, PID, PCOS, and Asherman’s syndrome. Castor Oil packs as a home therapy can be supportive to use along-side acupuncture in a natural and holistic approach to women’s health and fertility.

Relieves Stress

Another important benefit of Castor Oil Therapy is that it may help relieve stress. As you can guess, stress has a profound impact on those dealing with infertility and reproductive health concerns. Castor Oil Therapy requires you to temporarily step away from routine, daily demands and forces you to be present with yourself and rest.

How often should you apply castor oil packs?

Apply a castor oil pack at least 3-4 times a week for an hour.  When trying to conceive, do not use after ovulation.  If active in an IVF cycle, consult with us prior.  Take advantage of the quiet and restful time Castor Oil Therapy allows you to have.

Massage Oil

Womb Massage

Womb  massage is a relaxing, nourishing, non-invasive and very effective technique that is performed on your abdomen and lower back. Working gently over the abdominal area of the reproductive and digestive systems to encourage hormonal balance, but most of all balance in the whole body to help with numerous conditions. This type of massage will help you to connect with your inner-woman, connecting your heart and the womb, that can be used at any stage of your life journey.

Receiving this nurturing womb massage offers numerous benefits for the body; here are some below:

  1. Encourages displaced uterus to its optimal position

  2. Regulates menstrual cycle

  3. Alleviates painful menstruation and ovulation

  4. Increases circulation and promotes blood flow to the uterus

  5. Helps with stagnation and with detoxification of the body

  6. Helps with scar tissue

  7. Promotes relaxation and reduces stress

More on the Benefits of Womb Massage

  1. Hormonal Balance – By gently working on the abdomen, the massage releases oxytocin, balances hormone levels and regulates the period.

  2. Prepares the body for conception – By assisting the increase of blood flow to the uterus, it helps to oxygenate the blood and increase egg production to aid fertility and reproductive health.

  3. Regulates the menstrual cycle – By moving any stagnation in the womb, it helps to ease PMS symptoms that can lead to pain-free periods and a more regular cycle. In TCM we spend a lot of time moving the stagnant energy or blood, for example, to aid blood flow to the uterus. The massage helps clear congested, stagnant blood, such as in the case of endometriosis.

  4. Reduces pain – Maya massage (womb massage) helps to reduce painful periods as it releases endorphins by gentle and non-invasive aligning of the muscles and ligaments, to an optimal healthy position.

  5. Reduce scar tissue – Fertility massage helps to break up scar tissue and adhesions from Caesarean sections, pelvic issues and abdominal surgery. The removal of adhesions is really effective in providing a non-intrusive therapy for blocked fallopian tubes as well as with endometriosis.

  6. Move stagnation in the abdomen – This wonderful relaxing massage helps to move any sluggishness in the abdomen and improves blood circulation and flow, not just to the womb area, but all the surrounding organs in the abdominal cavity: the liver, spleen, intestine, bowels, uterus and ovaries. Chinese medicine says that all the organs need to function in synergy to support each other and, when one organ is out of sync, it impacts other organs in the body by either draining or over-bearing another organ.

  7. Reduce stress level – If you are under great impact of stress, this throws your hormones out of balance. Massage creates relaxation and releases oxytocin and helps you to relax. Massage will also relieve stress in your digestive tract and stomach area and encourage harmony within. Regular self-care helps you to connect with your body, maintaining the relaxation level for longer.

The Best Time to do Womb Massage?

The best thing is to come and see me three months before you start trying to conceive or at the very beginning of your IVF treatment (just after your menstrual bleeding), and to commit to at least one treatment a month. During your first session, you will be taught a self-care routine to do at home.

Having womb massage post-partum is very powerful and effective treatment that should be done on every mother after giving birth, to help to align the womb and ligaments back to the correct position.

When Not to do a Womb Massage

  • During your menstrual cycle

  • If you have IUD

  • In the first trimester of pregnancy

  • Within six weeks post vaginal birth or three months post Caesarean birth

Laser Lipo Belt or Pads

Laser liposuction uses lasers to break down the fat. Lasers may also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which results in firmer, tighter, and smoother skin.  The belt or pads containing low laser emitting modules is secured around your arms, torso, and thighs. The laser penetrates between 9 and 13 mm into the skin, which allows it to make contact with fat cells without disrupting your organs or harming your cells. The fat cells  then  enter your lymphatic system to later be eliminated in your urine, stool, or sweat. Please do not eat two hours prior to your treatment, and drinks lots of water to be well hydrated. (32 oz is suggested)

Contour Wrap

Contour Wrap may be used in two ways: for inch loss, or for detoxification and lymphatic cleansing. This amazing wrap does both for the body. The contour body wrap helps to free and remove trapped waste in the connective tissue, which eliminates internal disfiguring deposits and stimulate inch loss. Wraps are often sold in a series of treatments to maximize inch loss and cleansing. The contour cream helps stimulate the lymphatic circulation while the plastic wrap acts as an acupressure to push the lymphatic fluid up into the thoracic valve, circulating the toxins back into the bloodstream to get filtered out through the liver and the kidneys, promoting permanent inch loss. This 60-90 minute process is not a water loss, as clients do not sweat, and does not contain any chemicals or dehydrating ingredients. Clients may wear their own swimwear or  spa bra and panties (short swim trunks or speedos for men).

The wrap process is listed below:

  1. Exfoliation through Buff Body Scrub. OPTIONAL with fee of $25:

  2. Measurements taken at several points on the body (this step is often skipped when the wrap is being used for detoxification and cleansing)

  3. Application of Contour Cream by a trained technician.

  4. Wrap using a plastic film that helps to contour and to tighten.

  5. Relax on a comfortable treatment table.

  6. Cut out of wrap

  7. Rub in any remaining cream

  8. Re-measure in same points

  9. Client is dressed and on their way. Clients should not shower for the rest of the day to allow the cream to work.

Infrared Sauna

Empower
Growth

Use our sauna to detox, relax, burn calories, improve skin and blood circulation.
Drinking an electrolyte replacement water is strongly recommended before and after sauna use.The typical sauna session will last 30 minutes. The exceptions would be the following:
Children
The core body temperature of children rises much faster than adults. This occurs due to a higher metabolic rate per body mass, limited circulatory adaptation to increased cardiac demands and the inability to regulate body temperature by sweating. When using with a child, operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time.
The Elderly
The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature. When using with the elderly, operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time.
Will the sauna cure my condition?
Infrared saunas creating a cure for or treating any disease is neither implied nor should be inferred. For treatment of disease, please consult a licensed physician.
Are there times when I should not use the sauna?
If any of the items listed below apply to you, be certain to consult with your physician before using an infrared sauna.
Medications
Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician or a pharmacist for possible changes in the drugs effect when the body is exposed to infrared waves or elevated body temperature. Diuretics, barbiturates, and beta-blockers may impair the body's natural heat loss mechanisms. Some over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.
Cardiovascular Conditions
Individuals with cardiovascular conditions or problems (hypertension/hypotension), congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation or those who are taking medications which might affect blood pressure should exercise caution when exposed to prolonged heat. Heat stress increases cardiac output and blood flow in an effort to transfer internal body heat to the outside environment via the skin (perspiration) and respiratory system. This takes place primarily due to major changes in the heart rate, which has the potential to increase by thirty (30) beats per minute for each degree increase in core body temperature.
Alcohol / Alcohol Abuse
Contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable to attempt to "sweat out" a hangover. Alcohol intoxication decreases a person's judgment; therefore, he/she may not realize when the body has a negative reaction to high heat. Alcohol also increases the heart rate, which may be further increased by heat stress.
Chronic Conditions / Diseases Associated With Reduced Ability To Sweat Or Perspire
Multiple Sclerosis, Central Nervous System Tumors, and Diabetes with Neuropathy are conditions that are associated with impaired sweating.
Hemophiliacs / Individuals Prone To Bleeding
The use of infrared saunas should be avoided by anyone who is predisposed to bleeding.
Fever
An individual who has a fever should not use an infrared sauna until the fever subsides.
Insensitivity to Heat
An individual with insensitivity to heat should not use an infrared sauna.
Pregnancy
Pregnant women should consult a physician before using an infrared sauna.
Menstruation
Heating of the low back area of women during the menstrual period may temporarily increase their menstrual flow.
Joint Injury
If you have a recent (acute) joint injury, it should not be heated for the first 48 hours after an injury or until the swollen symptoms subside. If you have a joint or joints that are chronically hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous heating of any kind.
Implants
Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician prior to using an infrared sauna.
Pacemakers / Defibrillators
The magnets used to assemble our saunas can interrupt the pacing and inhibit the output of pacemakers. Please discuss with your doctor the possible risks this may cause.

BioCleanse Foot Detox

Empower
Growth

BioCleanse is a painless and efficient way to remove toxic accumulations no matter where they are located in the body. The foot spa generates a mix of positive and negative ions which attach themselves to the oppositely charged toxic particles and draws them out of the body through the pores of the feet. The result is a release of many different toxic materials; and for many a feeling of well-being and an increase in overall energy. The complex energy fields of the unit permeate the water, realigning a body’s energy field. This results in purging of toxins and nucleic waste products within the cells and surrounding membrane. The water will have a dramatic change in color due to the reaction of the array and the saline water but it is not the most important factor. What you notice after the session is the real test of how detoxification helps to bring your body into balance. After the foot detox is over, your body will continue to detox for the next 24-48 hours. Example your urine may look darker. It is advisable to drink more water during this period.

Buttocks/Breast Vacuum Therapy
Vacuum therapy is a noninvasive massaging technique that helps to lift your skin by toning and tightening the area without the use of incisions and fat grafting. Vacuum-therapy stimulates muscles, breaks down cellulite and fatty deposits, eliminates toxins, and helps improve lymphatic drainage and taking inches off. Vacuum therapy also helps restore the skin’s natural elasticity to smooth the appearance of facial wrinkles and “orange-peel” dimpling in the thighs and buttocks. This therapy is painless, safe and highly effective.

Vacuum-therapy, through the combination of its different action mechanisms, stimulates the blood in addition to performing lymphatic drainage. This means it provides a direct stimulation to the fibroblast as well as an increment in collagen, elastin, and reticulin production, improving the texture and tone of the treated zone.

Vacuum therapy indications will:

  • Raise, enlarge, and reaffirm the gluteus

  • Increase skin flexibility

  • Exfoliate the epidermis, making your skin softer

  • Stimulate the top two levels of skin, the dermis and hypodermis

  • Decrease muscle tension

There is no down time. Recommend up to 10 treatments and last up to 1 year.

Microblading

Microblading is a type of process is very precise thanks to the tool that is used which is effectively like a pen with the nib being a sloped blade with 10-12 little needles at the end - needles that don’t penetrate the skin but just delicately scratch the surface, much like a paper cut.The needle very finely implants featherweight strokes with a medical grade pigment on the epidermis layer for the skin, creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes. Unlike tattooing, microblading is not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface. This is also not permanent, and the color fades within 18 months.

It is very important to know and understand that brows will be up to 40% darker in shade for the first 7-10 days during the healing process where scabs can form and flake off.

The Microblading Dos and Don't There's a few of them

In Advance

1. Do not pick, tweeze, wax or have electrolysis one week prior.

2. Do not use sunbeds or sit in direct sunlight two weeks before.

3. Do not have any type of facial or peel two weeks prior.

4. Stop using any retinol or Vitamin A products one month prior.

5. No exercising on the day.

6. Do not have botox three weeks before.

7. Do not take fish oil or Vitamin E one week prior (these are natural blood thinners).

8. Do not wax or tint your eyebrows three days prior.

On The Day

1. Do not drink alcohol 24-48 hours prior to your appointment.

2. Do not drink coffee 2 hours prior.

3. Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen 24 hours prior.

The Post-Microblading Rules Days 1-7

1. Gently wash your eyebrows every morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap such as Cetaphil. Ensure all soap is rinsed away and dry by gently patting with a tissue. This will not remove the pigment.

DO NOT use any cleansers containing acids or exfoliants.

2. Apply a very small amount of coconut or rosehip oil to each brow morning and night.
